What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese-based energy healing practice. This practice focuses on sending the universal life force energy known as Ki into the body to promote healing.

The name Reiki comes from the Japanese word REI, which means spirit or sacred. And KI, which is Japanese for energy. Which would translate into "spirit energy."

The practice of reiki revolves around the concept that an imbalanced energy flow can cause our body's to be more prone to illness. Via a series of hands-on healing positions, the energy flows through the body and unblocks these pathways within. Anyone can perform this wonderful feat. It is our God given ability and allows us to heal wounds or relieve pain. But with reiki and the practiced hand positions this healing effect on the body is magnified.

All living things have an aura or bio-magnetic field connected to them. By manipulating the chakras and energy field, this universal energy flows through and aids the body in areas in need of healing. As the body takes in the reiki energy, it will be redirected to the needed areas, and heal as it was naturally intended to do.

This can create a relaxing meditative state during a reiki session. You may also experience sensations of hot, cold, tingling, a reduction in pain, and a focused state of mind.
